This two-day workshop is designed for photo enthusiasts who want to capture striking images of orchids. The workshop will emphasize how to capture the natural beauty of orchids through composition, light and background control, and close-up photography. Class time will include instruction on digital capture, processing techniques, and an introduction to photo editing software, such as Photoshop, Photoshop Elements, Nik Color Efex Pro Filters, Topaz Adjust and Simplify, etc. The instructor will provide an illustrated handout, critiques, and assistance during shooting time in the exhibition areas. The last session will be a formal critique of participants’ images. To help participants to capture the best possible orchid images, the following items are recommended: bring ALL photo equipment; a tripod is optional, but highly recommended; a memory card with ample digital capture space; camera manual; a fully charged and extra camera battery.
Note: Participants should have a working knowledge of their camera. Some activities are NOT applicable to point–n–shoot cameras.
To help participants to capture the best possible orchid images, the following items are recommended:
